Xiamen boasts enabling business environment for SMEs
Recently, a review of the city's business environment for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2022 was released at the second edition of the National SME Development Environment Forum on Feb 21, and Xiamen ranked 7th, the highest position among all cities in Fujian.

The review evaluated cities' business environments in terms of their market value, regulations, funding, innovation and policies. Among them, Xiamen's favorable policies took second place for its effectiveness.
In recent years, Xiamen has continued to support the development of SMEs by providing solutions to problems they have encountered and finding better ways to solve them.
To build an inclusive financial system, Xiamen has set up a technology innovation fund, incorporated fiscal policies into financial instruments, and guided financial institutions to release credit funds to SME.
Last year, more than 64 "little giant" enterprises, which typically specialize in niche sectors, command high market shares and boast a strong innovative capacity, were newly set up in Xiamen, and Xiamen ranks 7th for the number of such enterprises in China.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
