From January to February, the foreign trade volume of China reached 6.18 trillion yuan ($886.2 billion), a slight decrease of 0.8 percent year-on-year. Among them, the value of exports stood at 3.5 trillion yuan, a slight increase of 0.9 percent, and the value of imports reached 2.68 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9 percent.

The value of general trade in the first two months this year accounted for 64.9 percent of the total foreign trade value and reached 4.01 trillion yuan, up 1.2 percent year-on-year.

Over the same period, trade with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members enjoyed the largest share, hitting 951.93 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6 percent year-on-year, and accounted for 15.4 percent of the total.

During the same period, the trade volume of private enterprises reached 3.16 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent, and accounted for 52.2 percent of the total. Among them, the export and import value reached 2.14 billion yuan and 1.02 billion yuan, respectively, up 6.5 percent and 2.9 percent.

At the same time, exports mainly consisted of mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products. They achieved a value of 2.03 trillion yuan and 573.32 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 58 percent and 16.4 percent of the total.

Furthermore, imports mainly consisted of mechanical and electrical products, integrated circuit products and cars, with total values of 888.8 billion yuan, 329.07 billion yuan and 48.47 billion yuan, respectively.
