A container ship left Haitian Wharf in Xiamen, Fujian province and sailed to Sihanoukville Port in Cambodia, a member country of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), on March 14.

The newly added route at Xiamen Port is scheduled to dock at Haitian Wharf every Monday. The exports are mainly semi-finished products including fabric and shoes.

After leveraging the core regional advantages of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and RCEP, Xiamen is revving up efforts to enhance its status as an international container hub, safeguard the global industrial and supply chains and integrate into the new development pattern.

Since its launch in June 2022, the e-commerce express shipping route under the Silk Road Maritime has operated 29 voyages from Xiamen Port to South Harbor in Manila, the Philippines. Cross-border e-commerce companies and manufacturers can enjoy convenient policies such as early entries, direct pick-ups, loading and fast customs clearances. The route is an innovative measure for Xiamen to integrate shipping, ports and logistics and promote the cross-border e-commerce industry.

Maritime Silk Road Shipping is China's first international comprehensive logistics service brand under the Belt and Road Initiative. Up to now, it has launched 94 routes to 108 ports in 31 countries and regions around the world.

From Sept 8 to 11, 2022, the China International Fair for Investment and Trade, or CIFIT, was held in Xiamen. Over the past 25 years, CIFIT has served as a vital platform for China's high-level opening-up and attracted much of the country's foreign investment.
