Cruise ship arrives at Xiamen's port
"Zhao Shang Yi Dun", the first cruise ship flying the national flag of the People's Republic of China, arrived at Xiamen's international cruise home port on March 21, carrying nearly 400 tourists. It was the first passenger cruise vessel received by Xiamen, Fujian province, this year, marking a crucial step towards the normalization of the city's cruise tourism industry.
The ship had sailed a cultural tour route along the southeast coast of "Shenzhen-Xiamen-Zhoushan-Shanghai". It is a pilot high-end route of domestic waterway tourism created by the Ministry of Transport that features the cultural tourism resources of four cities from the innovative perspective of "maritime cultural tourism" to offer a better experience for tourists.
The day when the cruise docked, the hospitable Xiamen people were on hand to supply rich folk performances and delicious food. Meanwhile, Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Group Co also invited 10 citizens to visit their facilities.
Boasting advantageous geography and marine tourism resources, Xiamen is home to a lucrative cruise tourism market, and is one of the best destinations to open up coastal routes.
The local government has given muscle support to further improve the city's business environment, which denotes its unwavering determination to accelerate the recovery of the domestic cruise tourism market.
Currently, the port has been upgraded, and the berth has been renovated and expanded. In the future, the port intends to strengthen its capacity building and further use its platform advantages to stimulate greater market vitality.
