To seek investment in the tourism exhibition industry, Siming district in Xiamen, Fujian province, held a promotional event at Seaview Resort Xiamen, a five-star hotel, on April 14.

The event presented the status quo of Xiamen by showcasing the city's enabling environment for holding exhibitions, excellent facilities and upgraded favorable policies.

According to Wang Yida, deputy head of Siming district, Siming boasts rich tourism exhibition resources and is a hot place for holding tourism exhibitions. Since 2020, there have been more than 3,500 exhibitions held in the district each year, and the government has given a total of 50 million yuan ($7.27 million) in subsidies to exhibitors, which have contributed to the boom of the local hotel industry.

At the event, Dai Lizhu, director of the district's bureau of culture and tourism, explained the favorable policies issued by the district recently, and detailed upgrades that have been made since 2016 when the district first presented exhibition-related policies.

In order to encourage the audience to embrace the magnetism of the city's intangible cultural heritages, Xiamen folk performances were also staged during the event.

On top of that, the fifth phase of the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, which is expected to be put into use in June, was promoted and enterprises that made contributions to Siming's tourism exhibition industry were honored.
