Processed food industry conference, exhibition concludes in Xiamen

The 3rd China Processed Food Industry Conference and Exhibition concluded triumphantly on June 17 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. The three-day event drew a significant number of industry professionals and consumers, with over 100 domestic and international exhibitors showcasing thousands of processed food products. Notably, Fujian cuisine, celebrated for its unique regional flavors, took center stage, capturing the attention of numerous consumers in the processed food market.

Representatives from Weizheng, a prominent Xiamen company, revealed that their strategic focus on Fujian cuisine allowed them to penetrate the processed food market and gain a competitive edge. Market research indicates that consumers predicate processed foods featuring regional culinary labels.

As competition in the processed food industry intensifies, industry insiders contend that product homogenization is becoming an increasingly pressing issue. They argue that exploring regionally distinctive dishes and leveraging local brand influence to broaden the market could yield favorable market responses.

Xiamen's processed food enterprises have made impressive progress in the domestic market in recent years while the impetus for overseas expansion continues to grow. The conference specifically invited over 50 large-scale brand enterprises from Malaysia and other countries and regions, encompassing supermarkets, convenience stores, chain restaurants, and e-commerce platforms, to deepen their understanding of domestic processed food enterprises. This initiative also assists domestic processed food manufacturers forge connections with overseas businesses, paving the way for efficient global expansion.
