In a resounding success for cross-Strait trade, the 19th voyage of the Xiamen-Taipei cross-border e-commerce express ferry began on June 21, solidifying the route's role as a vital link between these two bustling economic centers.

Since its launch two months ago, this direct shipping route has facilitated the transportation of 12,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) containers, propelling the export value of cross-border e-commerce to 350 million yuan ($48.26 million).

Distinguished by its shorter travel time, expanded cargo capacity, and cost-effectiveness, this express route caters to small-scale, high-frequency cross-border e-commerce shipments that prioritize competitive freight rates and swift delivery.

The popularity of this route stems from its ability to seamlessly connect consumers in Taiwan with top-notch products manufactured across the Chinese mainland. By bridging this geographical divide, the express service has empowered customers in China to easily access a wide array of high-quality goods, fueling its exponential growth.

Currently operating two flights per week, there are plans to increase the frequency to three in the near future. With ample cabin space available, the express line is well-equipped to meet the escalating demand for cross-border e-commerce exports to Taiwan.

Additionally, this route synergizes with the southbound Xiamen-Kinmen freight route, further enhancing market service capabilities and cementing Xiamen's status as a premier hub for seamless cargo transportation to Taiwan.
