Xiamen completes investments of 54.32 billion yuan

From January to June, Xiamen's 130 provincial key projects completed investments of 54.32 billion yuan ($75.8 billion), reaching 66.2 percent of the annual investment target of 82.07 billion yuan, the Xiamen development and reform commission announced on July 17.

This means that efforts to accomplish the goal are 16.2 percentage points ahead of schedule, the highest in Fujian province in terms of investment completion rate.

In the first half of the year, 78 major preliminary projects with a total investment of 391.32 billion yuan took form in Xiamen. Currently, 23 projects have started construction, and 55 projects are progressing orderly as planned.

Investment in various sectors by provincial key projects in Xiamen is steadily progressing. Industrial projects, infrastructure projects, and social projects have all completed over 60 percent of their annual planned investment in the first half of the year.

The construction of the international headquarters of Lipin Pharmaceuticals commenced on March 1. Currently, 90 percent of the foundation work for Building 4 has been completed. The project includes 12 buildings that are expected to produce 200 million tablets, 200 million capsules, and 100 million film-coated tablets annually after completion in late 2025.

The transportation project related to Xiamen North Railway Station, as one of the infrastructure projects, has also achieved significant progress. The main body of the bus transfer hub, the station's physical structure and underground passage have been fully completed. Presently, the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, interior decoration, and intelligent technology implementation is underway.

The Xiamen Astronomical Museum started construction on June 1. With a total floor area of 55,000 square meters, the project involves the construction of an astronomical museum and supporting facilities such as an underground parking garage. It is expected to become operational by 2026.
