Serbia, one of the guest countries of honor at the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade, will hold an investment promotion event on Sept 9 in Xiamen, Fujian province to introduce the country's investment policies and environment.

In recent years, China and Serbia have seen rapid growth in bilateral trade and cooperation. According to official data, China was Serbia's second largest trading partner and second largest source of imports in 2021.

Serbia attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation with China. The nation has been continuously improving its investment environment, attracting Chinese companies to expand investment, and actively building a platform for Chinese investment in the Western Balkans and Europe.

Chinese companies that have invested in Serbia have been doing well. For example, HBIS Serbia and Serbia Zijin Mining are now the top two export companies in Serbia. Meanwhile, Huawei has been steadily expanding it presence and exploring new business opportunities. Service companies including the Bank of China Serbia have also been providing support to local taxation and employment, and this has further enhanced economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.

As the guest country of honor at this year's CIFIT, Serbia is set to make the most of the premier platform and help Chinese investors expand in the global markets.
