GRAND CENTURY, a foreign cargo ship, berthed at the Haicang Port Area of Xiamen Port in Xiamen, and began refueling on Feb 26.

The Haida 588 supply ship spent the next five hours refueling GRAND CENTURY with 1,000 tons of bonded low-sulfur fuel oil.

This marks the first time that Xiamen's first local license for international ships' bonded fuel oil refueling operations has been put to use.

From the implementation of the measures regarding Xiamen bonded fuel oil refueling operation and management for international shipping vessels on Jan 9 to the issuance of the first license certificate to companies by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce on Feb 1, and now the first bonded fuel oil refueling operation, all within just over a month, is a shining example of "Xiamen speed".

In the future, Xiamen will encourage more high-quality enterprises to carry out bonded fuel oil refueling operations at the port, promote the innovative development of high-end shipping service models such as ship registration, ship inspection, and maritime insurance, and promote the construction of a bonded fuel oil supply center.

Taking this as an opportunity, Xiamen will establish a maritime service base in Southeast Asia and boost the competitiveness and service level of Xiamen Port.
