Xiamen's service outsourcing sector sees significant growth from Jan to May

From January to May 2024, Xiamen's enterprises undertook service outsourcing contracts worth 32.16 billion yuan ($4.61 billion), a year-on-year increase of 14.8 percent. The actual execution amounted to 16.12 billion yuan, a growth of 33.3 percent and surpassing the national growth rate by 14.1 percentage points. 

Specifically, offshore service outsourcing contracts amounted to 15.34 billion yuan, a 14.9 percent increase year-on-year, surpassing the national growth rate by 2.4 percentage points. The execution in this sector reached 9.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 26.1 percent, exceeding the national growth rate by 16.2 percentage points.

In the same period, Xiamen's enterprises experienced a year-on-year growth of 13.3 percent in the execution amount of offshore information technology outsourcing (ITO) contracts and a 29.2 percent increase in the execution amount of offshore business process outsourcing (BPO) contracts.

Its enterprises saw a 38.4 percent year-on-year growth in the execution amount of offshore service outsourcing contracts from the United States. They also experienced a 13.2 percent year-on-year growth in executing offshore service outsourcing contracts from the European Union and a 1.6 percent year-on-year growth in executing offshore service outsourcing contracts from Hong Kong, China. 

Collectively, these contracts accounted for 77.7 percent of Xiamen's offshore service outsourcing execution amount.

Xiamen's enterprises also undertook offshore service outsourcing contracts from Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, with a 9.7 percent year-on-year growth in execution amount, collectively representing 11.2 percent of Xiamen's offshore service outsourcing execution amount.
