The "Hailian Reception Hall of Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce – Deep Blue Friendship and Partnership in Xiamen" event and the closing ceremony of the Seminar on the Promotion of the Sustainable Development of the Marine Economy via IOM for BRICS Countries were successfully held at Sea World on July 30.
The seminar lasted for 14 days and involved 24 officials from various departments, including the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Egypt, the Ministry of Transport in Egypt, and the Durban Government in South Africa.
The "Hailian Reception Hall" serves as a platform to promote bilateral investment and trade between Xiamen and other countries. The current series of events, titled "Deep Blue Friendship and Partnership in Xiamen", focuses on networking and channel platform establishment for outbound connections.
It leverages the networking resources of foreign aid training program participants in Xiamen to build a platform for two-way exchange and cooperation, expanding Xiamen's bilateral investment and trade channels with other countries and exploring opportunities for multilateral economic and trade cooperation.
The "My View of China" roundtable salon brought the event to a climax. Participants from BRICS countries in the training program freely discussed the themes, sharing their observations, learning experiences, and insights.
Officials from relevant departments actively engaged in interactions, fostering deep exchanges with the participants and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.
The event has not only built new bridges for cooperation among BRICS countries but also helped establish a more open and inclusive image for Xiamen on the international stage.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
