The 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is set to take place from Sept 8 to 11 in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, as announced by senior officials during a news conference in Beijing on Aug 26.
Under the theme "Investment Connecting the World," the four-day event aims to create an international, professional, and branded platform for fostering global industrial cooperation.
With the primary focus on "Invest in China", CIFIT seeks to provide diverse opportunities for foreign firms to innovate and deepen their presence in the Chinese market.
Additionally, CIFIT will feature a section dedicated to China's outbound investment cooperation, showcasing key enterprises and overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, and highlighting the achievements of Chinese investment.
So far, more than 20 international financial institutions and over 100 high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises and projects from countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States have registered to participate.
The event will present 400 financing opportunities across sectors including information technology, artificial intelligence, and new energy, leveraging the role of financial institutions through a variety of financial investment activities.
Nearly 50 business matchmaking activities and roadshows are planned, underscoring the country's strong commitment to cooperation and mutual benefit.
The fair also aligns with the Global Development Initiative and supports the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with businessmen from over 90 countries and international organizations already signed up.
As the host location, Fujian province and Xiamen city will capitalize on their unique advantages as a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese and a core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, working closely with the Ministry of Commerce to establish the CIFIT as a flagship exhibition for "Invest in China".

Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
