The National Development and Reform Commission's National Center for Public Credit Information released the national 2024 Urban Comprehensive Credit Index rankings on Feb 13. Among China's 36 provincial capitals and cities above the vice-provincial level, Xiamen secured the dual first position in both the December 2024 monthly and annual rankings for 2024.

Xiamen is one of the first national demonstration cities for the construction of the social credit system. It has introduced the first local social credit regulations among vice-provincial cities nationwide, established an early unified public credit information sharing platform across the city, and actively created innovative applications of credit data in areas such as financial credit and public services. This effort has led to the development of a positive pattern where credit construction and business environment optimization mutually promote economic and social development.

City credit monitoring is a dynamic evaluation conducted on the credit status of over 600 cities nationwide, comprehensively reflecting the level of credit system development in each city. This list has been regularly released since 2015 and serves as a crucial window for observing the social credit situation of Chinese cities.

The evaluation content mainly includes: the implementation of credit policies and systems, the construction of credit information infrastructure, credit supervision, credit services for the real economy, the credibility and dishonesty of credit entities, integrity promotion and public opinion, government integrity, credit innovation practices, comprehensively reflecting the level of social credit system development in the city.
