On Feb 16, 1,770 SAIC MG new energy vehicles were neatly lined up and ready to depart from the Xiamen Modern Terminal. They were loaded onto the Swiss roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) ship bound for the United Kingdom, marking the largest order exported to a single customer in Fujian province this year.

The Modern Terminal is located in the Dongdu Port Area of Xiamen, with the first commercial vehicle ro-ro berth in Fujian province. It has an annual loading and unloading capacity of 140,000 vehicles, serving destinations in Europe, Southeast Asia, and other countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative.

The export of commercial vehicles demands extremely high efficiency in customs clearance due to the costly detention fees for vessels. Thanks to the "24-hour" all-weather clearance services, seamless connections during vessel berthing, loading and unloading operations have boosted operational efficiency.

They have innovatively introduced an "online + offline" dual linkage model, where online fast inspection declaration is facilitated through the Single Window Platform, while offline guidance helps companies optimize site management to ensure safe and efficient vehicle loading and unloading.

According to statistics, the average departure time for vessels has been reduced by 1.5 hours per voyage, resulting in a 4.2 percent increase in operational efficiency. This has lowered the operating costs for businesses, further optimizing the port's business environment.
