The COSCO Yellow Sea vessel, loaded with 11 40-ton energy storage container products manufactured by Hithium Energy Storage Co Ltd, set sail from Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal to Zhoushan Port in Ningbo.

These giant products finally travelled to the Port of Long Beach in the United States. This is the largest single batch of energy storage products by weight exported from Xiamen Port to date.

HithiumEnergy Storage is a local Xiamen enterprise. It ranked third in the 2024 global market shipment ranking of Chinese energy storage batteries, with its products selling well in Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, the Middle East, and Africa.

In recent years, energy storage products have shown a trend towards larger and heavier designs. The energy storage containers recently exported from Xiamen have an individual weight of up to 40 tons and a battery capacity exceeding five MWh, both of which are records for Xiamen Port among similar products shipped by sea.
