Home to 1,700 residents in about 370 households, the ancient Shushan Village is tucked away in the mountains surrounding the city of Suzhou, in East China's Jiangsu province. Eight years ago, a group of landscape planners came here and started changing appearance of the village. As the Shushan Village is putting on a new look, more and more tourists are attracted here, making local villagers better off.
