Suzhou New District has been dedicated to developing its biopharmaceutical industry in recent years.
The district has brought in world-leading companies like ThermoFisher Scientific and BioMérieux, renowned research institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, as well as professional platforms and incubators like the Inspirationpark.
Suzhou New District has set up a specialized fund of 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) for the local biopharmaceutical and medical equipment industry.
A total of 42 people working in the biopharmaceutical industry were honored as Suzhou's leading talents.
The district has gathered 400 biopharmaceutical and medical equipment companies, which generated 20 billion yuan in combined annual revenue, with an average growth of 30 percent.
