Suzhou Museum's western branch to open to public soon

Suzhou Museum's new branch, located in the Shishan Cultural Plaza in western Suzhou, is expected to open to the public in October, local media outlets reported.

The museum will have an exhibition area of 13,391 square meters and will consist of specific exhibition halls for local history, arts and crafts, paintings and calligraphy, international cultural exchange, personal exploration, and virtual reality interactions.

Located on the first floor of the museum, the Hall of Suzhou History displays a total of 2,000 collections and offers visitors a rare glimpse into Suzhou's history.

The Hall of Suzhou Arts and Crafts is located on the second floor of the museum and includes 1,500 exhibits of jade carvings, bamboo engravings, metal productions, folk instruments, woodblock paintings, Su-style furniture, and Su embroidery.
