Suzhou New District rolled out a plan on March 11 to develop three new industrial parks, local media outlets reported.

The first park will be called the Business Innovation Zone and will encompass the sub-districts of Shishan, Hengtang, and Fengqiao. It will focus on institutional innovation, commerce circulation, opening-up, cooperation, trade in services, and industrial research and development.

It will strive to form stronger ties with the Suzhou area of the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone, integrate Shanghai's abundant financial and insurance resources, and become more attractive to Japanese companies so as to realize its goal of becoming a hub for business, innovation, foreign trade, and international cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The second park will be the Advanced Manufacturing Park, which combines SND's comprehensive free trade zone with the Xushuguan Economic Development Zone. It will use imports and exports to promote the development of more intelligent and advanced manufacturing industries and will also develop new fields such as the digital economy and industrial internet in order to achieve the digitalization and intelligentization of traditional industries.

The third park will be the Science and Technology Ecological Park, which will make use of the scientific and ecological capabilities of Zhenhu sub-district (an Ecotourism Resort in Western Suzhou), Tong'an town, and Dongzhu sub-district. It will strive to better allocate talent, capital, and technology, form closer ties with renowned universities and research institutes, focus on the establishment of the Taihu Lake Science and Technology City, and become an innovation hub for leading industries.
