Suzhou New District held an innovation and development summit at the Suzhou Shishan International Convention Center on June 18 to boost its cooperation with Japanese companies.
Projects worth $1.57 billion were officially signed at the summit. They include platform fund projects such as the Sino-Japanese green industry innovation cooperation platform and medical device industrial projects.
During the summit, new measures to enhance the SND's business environment were also unveiled. These measures include the construction of the Sino-Japanese green industry innovative cooperation demonstration base and the Japanese version of SND's official website.
SND is home to 620 Japanese companies with a total investment of over $20 billion, 17 of which are among the world's top 500 companies. The district has a complete industrial chain in electronic information, precision machinery, fine chemical industry and other fields.
This year, SND was honored as a demonstration area for industrial cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea.
SND will endeavor to build a first-class international business environment, as well as provide quality services for Japanese companies and individuals in Suzhou.
