Suzhou New District held a launch ceremony for a key subsidiary of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, a global investment and construction group, on Sept 29.
The subsidiary, CSCEC International Construction Co, will strengthen cooperation with Suzhou in the upgrading of the city, the construction of infrastructure, and improvement of people's livelihoods.
In addition, the company will make full use of its overseas experience in more than 40 countries to assist Suzhou in the promotion of investment in industrial parks and attract more high-quality international resources and industries.
In light of the national goals related to achieving peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, CSCEC is planning to build a research institute in SND, which specializes in researching industrial technology that would aid dual carbon reduction goals.
The research institute will integrate the resources from the subsidiaries of CSCEC, such as CSCEC International Construction Co and China Overseas Holdings, to carry out industry-university-research cooperation with SND.
In addition, the CSCEC Engineering Technology Research Institute (Suzhou) will be established in SND to further boost scientific research and industrialization.
