Suzhou New District held the first annual conference in China of the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association on Oct 14, attracting over 1,800 domestic and foreign scholars and company representatives to attend the conference.
The participants exchanged opinions on topics like building a domestic biomedical technology innovation ecosystem, accelerating domestic drug innovation, and exploring the frontier of biomedical science at the conference.
SND signed an agreement with the China chapter of SAPA at the conference, which requires both sides to hold summits for the biomedical sector regularly, as well as to boost exchanges and cooperation on research and development, talent cultivation, and other issues related to the biomedicine industry.
A biomedical industry think tank was jointly established by SND and SAPA, aiming to gather global cutting-edge technologies and industrial resources of the biomedicine industry to the district, as well as to help contribute to the industry's development and attract related projects.
The Yangtze River Delta region office of the China chapter of SAPA, which is also designed to be an innovation center, was unveiled at the conference. The office will be operated as a platform for cooperation between China and the United States, technological innovation incubation, as well as industrialization.
SAPA is the largest and most active professional organization in North America that specializes in biomedicine, with over 6,000 members across the world.
