The vitality of SND's innovation and entrepreneurship environment has been growing steadily in recent years.
Statistics show that SND's total industrial output value had exceeded 300 billion yuan ($47.1 billion) for five consecutive years, with that of the emerging industries accounting for 61.2 percent of the total. The output value of new-generation information technology and high-end equipment manufacturing, two leading industries in SND, reached 170 billion yuan and 100 billion yuan respectively in 2020, becoming the main driving forces of regional economic growth.
The district has also attracted more than 40 State-owned enterprises, nearly 2,000 foreign-funded enterprises, and more than 35,000 domestic private enterprises, of which 29 are unicorn-to-be enterprises, 283 are gazelle enterprises, 1,300 are national high-tech enterprises, 3,722 are provincial private science and technology enterprises, and 23 are listed enterprises. The number of leading talents SND has attracted currently stands at 2,100.
