The first session of the 9th Huqiu District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference commenced at the Suzhou Shishan International Convention Center on Jan 5, local media outlets reported.
The session will run until Jan 7, and the members of the 9th Huqiu District Committee of the CPPCC are set to review the annual work report and the report on their proposals, which will both be presented by the Standing Committee of the 9th Huqiu District Committee of the CPPCC.
They also discussed the government work report that will be released at the first session of the 12th Huqiu District People's Congress, which also commenced at the Suzhou Shishan International Convention Center on Jan 6.
During the first session of the 12th Huqiu District People's Congress, Song Changbao, vice-secretary and acting mayor of Huqiu district, delivered a presentation on the district government work report.
The session will run until Jan 8, during which deputies to the congress are set to review the district government work report, the guiding principles and goals of government work in the next five years, and the major goals and tasks for 2022.
