Suzhou New District and Taiyo Ink signed an agreement on March 3 for the Japanese company's first research and development center overseas, local media outlets reported.
The R&D center is expected to enhance the overall R&D capability and improve the safety of the current working environment. In the near future, it will import solder ink technology independently developed by its Japanese headquarters.
The center represents another major step forward by Taiyo Ink since it established its Suzhou branch in SND 21 years ago. The branch has been dedicated to the research and production of high quality and efficient printed circuit board ink-related electronic chemicals, with its major products accounting for 60 percent of the global market.
Since its establishment, the Suzhou branch has seen steady growth, with its product structure being optimized and its operational efficiency continuously improving.
The company has been working closely with local higher learning institutions in recent years, setting up a college student employment and entrepreneurship base with the Suzhou University of Science and Technology and an industry-university-research collaborative Innovation center and graduate workstation with Soochow University. It has played an important role in promoting social employment, scientific and technological innovation, and talent gathering in the district.
