Suzhou Rail Transit Group recently published two metro lines stringing together the diversified local museums, local media outlets reported.

The metro lines, which were designed to bring local residents a cool and refreshing cultural treat on hot summer days, thread together a dozen museums in Suzhou, such as the prestigious Suzhou Museum and its West Branch, the Museum of Wu, which features a wide range of exhibits on Wu Culture, the Suzhou Silk Museum, which is the first Chinese museum specializing in silk, as well as a number of others highlighting local classic gardens, operas, embroidery art, fan-making, city walls, inscriptions, and imperial kiln bricks.

The group announced that it will continue to promote a series of metro lines to local classic gardens, the Grand Canal culture, and the natural beauty of lakes and mountains.

The launch ceremony was held at the West Branch of Suzhou Museum, which is located in Suzhou New District and opened to the public in September 2021.

In February this year, the group published an English travel guide called Pocket Suzhou, the city's first in-depth travel guide in English, to cover topics such as classical gardens, the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal, museums and cultural venues, ancient towns and villages, and local specialties.
