Wumen is hailed as one of the most influential painting schools in Chinese art history and Wumen artists are especially talented at landscape painting. Leading artists include the "four great painters of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)" – Shen Zhou, Tang Yin, Wen Zhengming and Qiu Ying, whose styles influenced several succeeding artists.
