As the second Cross-Straits Youth Culture Month unveiled its curtain in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 19, the host city organized a series of cultural exhibitions, salons, and travel activities the next day for the 100 some youth from Taiwan.

Photo exhibitions at the Hanshan Art Museum in Suzhou New District told stories of family changes in Suzhou and Taiwan, threading together the development across the Straits over the past 100 years and bringing out the idea that people on both sides of the Straits are all of one family.

The museum also displayed a variety of painting and calligraphy works and cultural creative works designed by young artists from across the Straits, vividly reflecting the cultural diversity of the two sides.

Four cultural inheritors from Taiwan, including the curator of the Nanjing Yunjin Museum and flute principal of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, shared their life stories with the Taiwan youth as well as their reflections on helping traditional Chinese culture be more modern and more appealing to younger generations.

The youth delegation also branched out into three teams, immersing themselves in a Suzhou classical garden trip, a downtown exploration trip, and an herbal medicine experience trip in Suzhou.
