Suzhou New District in East China's Jiangsu province held a promotional culture and tourism event in Macao on Sept 24, local media outlets reported.
A series of embroidery works created by professional embroiderer Yao Jianping and her team, such as a watch with its face featuring embroidery elements, and a double-sided fan, a craftsmanship unique to Suzhou, were highlights at the event.
The patron saint of Shushan village, a cartoon character combining the rural customs and cultural heritage of SND, also attracted the attention of a large number of visitors.
In addition, the event highlighted various inscriptions on precipices, which were rubbed from mountains all over SND, reflecting the love of numerous ancient literati for the landscapes and culture there.
The event aimed to boost the integration of cultural and tourism resources in SND and Macao and to impress Macao residents with SND's images of picturesque landscapes, profound culture, and scientific and technological innovation.
