The opening ceremony of the 13th Foreign Investment Enterprises Games of Suzhou was held on Sept 24, local media outlets reported.

The Joinfit City Orienteering kicked off closely after the opening ceremony, attracting the largest number of individual participants in any match of the Games – more than 400 players from 50 foreign enterprises.

A total of 3,563 employees from 215 foreign-invested enterprises, including 43 first-time company participants, have attended or will take part in the sporting event from Sept 3 to Oct 23, competing in the 10 categories of basketball, football, table tennis, badminton, fishing, golf, canoeing, billiards, karting, and city orienteering.

The event has been running since 2009 to enrich the lives of employees and enhance Suzhou's appeal to foreign enterprises. It has remained at a high level throughout the years and was turned into a biennial event in 2020.
