A photo exhibition on the classical gardens of Suzhou touring European countries, East China's Jiangsu province, was launched in Venice on Oct 18, with the opening ceremony being livestreamed to audiences both in Suzhou and the Italian city.
The exhibition, which is scheduled to open at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice from Oct 12 to 28, displays 30 outstanding photos taken by local Suzhou photographers, aiming to interpret the city's time-honored classical gardens through pavilions, terraces, open halls, animals and plants, and seasonal landscapes.
The exhibition was in celebration of the 2022 China-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism as well as the 42 years of sister-city ties between the Chinese and the Western cities, during which time the two sides have conducted productive exchanges and cooperation in fields including culture, tourism, trade, sports, and higher education.
The tour exhibition was organized by the Suzhou government foreign affairs office, Suzhou gardening and greening bureau, authorities in Venice, and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and its Confucius Institute.
It will later be held in Suzhou's sister cities in France, Belgium, Denmark, and Romania.
