With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in full swing, Xue Haoyun, a senior student majoring journalism at Northwestern University in Qatar, is experiencing the vibes of World Cup in an immersive way.

Xue, who comes from Suzhou, also takes great pride in the Chinese elements abounding both on and off the field of the World Cup.

Chinese enterprises have provided more sponsorship revenue than companies from any other nation, and their advertisements can be seen at the stadiums and on the streets. The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum presents many items with Chinese elements, such as Fuwa, mascot of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing Olympic Torch, and posters of Chinese athletes.

"Mascots, flags, footballs, and many other peripheral goods are made in China. My classmates are swarming to have a look at the giant panda from China," Xue said. "It is noteworthy that there are also Suzhou elements. Higer Bus from Suzhou offers shuttle services for the fans of different countries, and Zhenze, located in Wujiang District of Suzhou, has provided many container houses."

As an international student from Suzhou, Xue Haoyun has felt personally the elements of Suzhou and China at the World Cup and is deeply touched by this connection between different countries.
