A business delegation from Suzhou New District attended a meeting on sustainable cooperation at the headquarters of Knorr-Bremse in Germany on Dec 15, 2022.
Bernd Spies, a member of the executive board of Knorr-Bremse, thanked Suzhou and SND for helping the company develop in the Chinese market. He said the company will expand its investment in SND.
Thomas Lippert, chief financial officer at Knorr-Bremse Asia Pacific, said 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Germany diplomatic relations. He said he hopes the visit to SND can bring more German companies to China and Suzhou.
According to the SND delegation, the district has rolled out 60 preferential policies for foreign companies and will continue to welcome German investors.
Knorr-Bremse is a world leading manufacturer of brake systems in rail vehicles and commercial vehicles and has 100 branches in 30 countries around the world.
Founded in SND in 2005, Knorr-Bremse Systems for Rail Vehicles (Suzhou) Co is a wholly-owned subsidiary and a major manufacturing facility for brake systems that caters to domestic markets. It is also Knorr-Bremse Group's largest manufacturer for its rail business in the world, according to Xu Baoping, chairman of the board of directors of Knorr-Bremse Asia Pacific.
