Suzhou New District (SND) in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province held a launch ceremony for a host of tourism products and Spring Festival activities on Jan 14.
Tourist attractions in the district, including Suzhou Amusement Land, Dayang Mountain National Forest Park, Taihu Lake Wetland Park, and China Embroidery Art Museum, will organize various celebrations for the Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan 22 this year.
From Jan 23 to 26, galas and fairs where people can enjoy food and play games will be held at Shushan villageg in the SND. A special local tradition will also be showcased every day during the period. For example, there will be circuses on Jan 23 and lion and dragon dances on Jan 24.
Guest houses and restaurants in the village will offer discounts during the holiday.
In addition, livestream studios will be set up in the village and the Suzhou Embroidery Small Town to promote cultural creative products, hotel rooms and other goods.
Public cultural venues and stadiums will be free to enter during the Spring Festival holiday. The Suzhou Museum will hold two exhibitions themed on dinosaur fossils unearthed in Zhejiang province and ancient Greeks.

The SND Cultural Gallery will launch an online activity inviting citizens to share photos of their meals, trips and other holiday activities. It will also work with the district's library to offer activities related to embroidery, sugar people, and fruit pit carving.
