As the Spring Festival, which falls on Jan 22, draws near, shopping malls and supermarkets in the Suzhou New District (SND), Suzhou, Jiangsu province have been welcoming a growing number of customers and running sales promotions for products such as agricultural produce and Spring Festival couplets.
The SND administrative committee has also launched a Chinese New Year consumption festival that comprises more than 50 activities related to winter delicacies and nighttime economy.
During a recent car sales activity held in the SND, the district offered people who bought passenger cars subsidies and an opportunity to enter a draw to win digital red envelopes.
