Suzhou New District (SND) in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province has been providing high-quality public cultural services to its residents.
Many public cultural spaces in the district, such as the SND Library, the China Embroidery Art Museum, the Hengshan community cultural services center, and the intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall in Shishan Business Innovation Zone, have won provincial and municipal-level recognitions.
SND has also organized art competitions, art training sessions and cultural activities on a regular basis to involve more citizens. A singing contest and a street dance competition held in the district last year were named "outstanding art projects of the year" in Suzhou.
The district has also trained a number of art troupes, which have created many excellent works including dances and traditional Chinese instrumental performances.
