Development principle
With the goal of “building a high-level foreign language university with distinctive Beijing characteristics” and centering on BISU’s tasks on education development between 2021 and 2025, the institute is making new breakthroughs in deepening comprehensive reform, boosting classified development and building a high-level characteristic university. These improvements increase BISU’s capabilities in serving the national strategy and Beijing’s “four centers” construction. The institute is continuously fine-tuning its advantages in disciplines and influence in scientific research, talent training and social services.
Development goals
The institute emphasizes exploring new liberal arts, pushing forward the cross-over of disciplines and majors, talent training and scientific research, deepening reforms in training high-level graduates, and advancing their classified training.
In order to support the construction of Beijing’s “four centers”, the institute is building a major research service platform and a think tank to form a scientific research and innovation system. It is also working to establish a number of research communities with full-time researchers and research-oriented and teaching-oriented teachers. The institute is also designing its think tank base and academic cross-training platform through integrating science and education.
