The School of International Education of Chinese Language specializes in Chinese education for foreign students. Teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the school started in the 1980s.
The School of Economics originated from the major of economic cooperation with foreign countries, which was established in 1981 by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation as the first of its kind among foreign language universities in China.
The School of International Education is responsible for BISU’s international cooperation projects, foreign language training and overseas studying projects. It aims to train internationalized, high-level and comprehensive talents based on its professional teaching resources.
The School of European Studies was established in December 2018 on the basis of the former Western European Language School, the Central European Language School and the Russian Department.
Established in 1964, the School of English Language, Literature and Culture (formerly the English department) offers undergraduate education and graduate education, and has seven departments.
The School of Japanese Language, Literature and Culture was established in 1964 as the Department of Japanese Language at Beijing International Studies University (BISU).
