China wins 'Belt and Road' Polo Open Tournament

After four days of furious competition, China won the 2019 "Belt and Road" Polo Open Tournament (Inner Mongolia), which was held in Horinger New Area in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 24.
The competition is an important part of the 2nd China Horse Culture Festival and the 1st Inner Mongolia Horse Culture Expo. Four teams from China, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and New Zealand participated.
China emerged victorious after defeating the UK.

According to local authorities, the purpose of the polo competition is to develop a polo demonstration zone for Inner Mongolia, promote more polo competitions, and lay the foundation for the 2020 polo league, which will be held in the region.
The promotion of polo, the development and utilization of local horse resources, and a rise in incomes among herders have helped with poverty alleviation in Inner Mongolia.
