Hohhot launches Qingcheng Metro app
Hohhot, capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has launched a Qingcheng Metro app, currently available for both Android and IOS download, according to a report in the Hohhot Evening News.
Residents can now download the app and register with real-name authentication.
After the upcoming launch of the Hohhot Metro, citizens can open the app to enter the station and take a metro ride with a QR code generated by the app.
Metro officials said it should be noted that residents who have previously used the beta version of the app also need to complete real name registration.
Hohhot Metro Line 1 is set to open at the end of December, marking it the first metro line in the autonomous region.
Construction work on the project began in 2016. Currently, preparation work for the launch of the metro line is underway -- including equipment inspections, emergency drills and staff training.
