Comprehensive bonded zone passes acceptance
The new Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone on Dec 25 successfully passed its on-site inspection and acceptance -- carried out by eight departments and bureaus including Hohhot Customs -- according to a report in the Hohhot Daily.
The acceptance results will be reported to ministries and commissions, including the General Administration of Customs for review.
The comprehensive bonded zone, developed from previous Hohhot Export Processing Zone, was established on September 4, 2018, under the approval of the State Council, China’s Cabinet.
It has a planned area of 0.88 square kilometers, integrating the functions of the bonded zone, export processing zone, bonded logistics park and port.
After its official launch, it is expected to optimize the processing trade industry layout and develop industries such as bulk commodities, agricultural and livestock product distribution.
Local officials said the cross-border e-commerce business, modern logistics for imports and exports of commodities and warehousing services will be further developed.
