A groundbreaking ceremony for two projects in the information technology applications innovation industry was held on July 22 in the Inner Mongolia Horinger Economic Development Zone in Hohhot – capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region – according to a Xinhua News Agency report.

One project is the Baixin Ecological Adaptation Center, being jointly established by the Horinger zone, Shanxi Baixin Information Technology Co – a leading domestic provider of IT security products – and tech giant Huawei.

Officials said the new center will have functions such as localized software and hardware migration and adaptation, training and demonstrations.

They said it aims to become a magnet for the information technology applications innovation industry.

It will do so through continuous upgrades to its digital development, continuing output adaptation and certification services, establishing industry public relations operations and applications demonstration bases, and creating competitive industry products and supply solutions.

The other project that started construction will manufacture servers and personal computers.

Officials said that when the plant is completed and starts production in October 2020, it will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 servers and computers.

These will supply key network systems and applications replacements for companies in finance, energy, power, transportation, communications and other fields.

Officials said that the information technology applications innovation industry is the foundation of data security and network security.

The core of the industry is to realize localized substitution in the fields of core chips, basic hardware, operating systems, middleware and data servers.

Officials said construction of the two projects marked an important milestone for Inner Mongolia to develop its information technology applications innovation industry.
