Hohhot focuses on ethnic minorities in poverty alleviation campaign
Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been getting results in its poverty alleviation work, with a particular focus on ethnic minorities, according to Hohhot Daily.
Hohhot has recently improved various management systems for ethnic minority development fund projects, and continuously strengthened the construction of the project library management system, public announcement system, and supervision and inspection system.
Since 2019, in order to ensure the economic and social development of ethnic minorities and ethnic areas inhabited by ethnic minorities, Hohhot city has obtained 24.6 million yuan ($3.63 million) of special funds for poverty alleviation at national and autonomous region level.
The city has spent 8.64 million yuan of municipal development funds on ethnic minorities, focusing on infrastructure, production development, characteristic villages, poverty alleviation, and demonstration model village construction in ethnic minority areas.
So far, all of the poverty-stricken ethnic minority populations in the city have been lifted out of poverty.
