High-level talents cooperation conference kicks off in Hohhot

The eighth Inner Mongolia "Grassland Talents" High-level Talents Cooperation Conference opened in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Sept 25, according to local media reports.
The event, aimed at helping skilled workers find recruitment opportunities, had its main venue set up in Hohhot, and three sub-venues set up in Baotou, Ordos and Ulaanqab.
At the opening ceremony, the Inner Mongolia Talent Work Online Exhibition Hall was officially released. In addition, a signing ceremony was held for several talent projects.
Over the next three days, Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Ulaanqab will successively hold 32 activities in five categories, including talent development theme exchange seminars, recruitment of talents, talent project matchmaking and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. Some of these activities will be carried out online.
According to Inner Mongolia officials, the autonomous region has hosted the high-level talent cooperation conference for eight consecutive years and organized the selection of "Grassland Talents" for 11 consecutive years.
So far, the autonomous region has cultivated 38 national and provincial leading talents, 716 industrial innovation and entrepreneurial talent teams, built 82 high-level talent innovation and entrepreneurship bases, five national laboratories and engineering technology research centers.
To date, Hohhot has established a talent work coordination group and set up a special fund of 100 million yuan ($14.66 million) for talent development.
A total of almost 2 billion yuan has been invested to promote the construction of various science and technology parks, training bases, and science and technology centers in Hohhot city.
In recent years, Hohhot has introduced a total of 15 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. More than 90 projects with a total value of more than 140 billion yuan were signed at the "Grassland Talents" High-level Talents Cooperation Conference.
