Hohhot ranks 1st in purchasing power in Inner Mongolia
The online purchasing power of residents in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, ranked first in the autonomous region during the Nov 11 (also known as Double 11) shopping spree on JD.com, according to local media reports.
According to data, the purchasing power of Inner Mongolia during the period ranked 23rd in the country, with a year-on-year increase of 135.04 percent in turnover.
In terms of sales volume, the top five best-selling products in Inner Mongolia are mobile phones, household appliances, computer and office productivity products, outdoor sports, and digital products, showing that household consumption is recovering.
The cities with the strongest purchasing power in Inner Mongolia are Hohhot, Baotou and Chifeng. The turnover of Hohhot residents accounts for about 20 percent of the autonomous region's total.
In addition, sales of alcohol, pets, auto supplies, jewelry, and household cleaning products also increased significantly year-on-year.
