Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was selected as one of the top cities in China for innovation in its night economy, according to a report co-compiled by Liaowang Think Tank and Tencent on Jan 20.
Six domestic cities were included on the list. These were Chengdu, Qingdao, Shijiazhuang, Changsha, Wuhan and Hohhot.
The selection combined big data and other tools to analyze the target cities from four dimensions: night economic communication, innovation, industrial scale and business circles' pedestrian volume.
Night economy innovation is mainly about evaluating the innovation of the target cities in terms of policies, business formats, and models.
In 2020, Hohhot implemented multiple COVID-19 prevention and control measures, as well as actively promoted sales in areas like night catering, tourism, culture and entertainment.
The city saw the gradual recovery of its night economy, which greatly enhanced the city's vitality.
