Hohhot ranked as the 44th most popular city online in China in 2021 in terms of network popularity, urban vitality, trendy lifestyle, industrial development, and city impression, reflecting the city's growing influence and strong development.

Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province took the first three places on the list.

The list, initiated by Southern Finance Omnimedia Co and 21st Century Business Herald was based on both rational data evaluation scales and public impression scores.

Some 10,000 netizens voted online in the campaign.
