Hohhot rolls out policies to promote culture, tourism integration

Lan Yi, deputy head of the Hohhot Municipal Publicity Department, rolled out an array of policies during an interview recently to promote the high-quality integration of culture and tourism in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, aiming to build it into a leisure and vacation center.
The policy is focused on cooperation with surrounding cities such as Ulanqab, Baotou and Ordos to create boutique tourist routes.
"We hope that tourists will have a satisfying experience in Hohhot with its delicious food, comfortable hotels and convenient transportation that are available," said Lan Yi.
Lan also added that as Hohhot is aiming to create national 5A tourist attractions, it will also enrich the cultural and tourism business, with a focus on night tourism, winter tourism, health tourism and industrial tourism.
In addition, Hohhot is striving to promote tourism products covering agricultural products, intangible heritage products, and creative products with local characteristics. It will also improve online and offline shopping channels.

Another highlight is the upgradation of tourism service quality. Lan also said that Hohhot aims to accelerate the construction of tourism transportation system, improve tourism public service facilities, and improve the service level of travel agencies.
By 2024, Hohhot's annual reception of tourists is expected to reach 51 million, the annual tourism revenue will reach 110 billion yuan ($15.69 billion), and the added value of cultural industries will reach 14 billion yuan.
