Hohhot's 16th People's Congress concludes

The Fourth Session of the 16th Hohhot Municipal People's Congress concluded on Jan 7 at the Inner Mongolia People's Hall, completing all agenda items. Of the 339 representatives, 329 were present, meeting the quorum.
The session approved several resolutions, including reports on government performance, the 2024 economic and social development plan, the 2025 budget, and work reports from the Standing Committee, Intermediate People's Court, and People's Procuratorate.
Key 2024 highlights included progress in modern industry, ecological preservation, and public services. This year, the city will aim for 6.5 percent GDP growth and over 1,200 major projects valued at 170 billion yuan ($23.2 billion).
Nine strategic priorities were identified, such as promoting green agriculture, fostering innovation, enhancing urban infrastructure, and advancing rural vitalization. These initiatives underline Hohhot's focus on sustainable development and improving residents' quality of life.
